Hypoglycemia
HYPOGLYCEMIA// In today's video, I discuss HYPOGLYCEMIA in diabetes and what NURSE PRACTITIONERS need to keep in mind when managing and treating our patients. This would include how to treat hypoglycemia and proper patient education. This is a topic that I believe can be glossed over because it is so common in diabetes mellitus but that is the very reason we should cover hypoglycemia in diabetes periodically...because it is common! In the outpatient setting, the goal is to empower our patients to be self managers of their health and diabetes diagnosis. Knowing the signs and symptoms of hypoglycemia in diabetes and how to anticipate and troubleshoot an hypoglycemic episode is crucial for those diagnosed with diabetes mellitus (diabetes type 1 or diabetes type 2). As always, thank you for tuning in and browse below for other helpful resources!
